  • Worked towards the relaunch of the existing content library system with upgrades and new services; provided offices and teams independent storage and content-sharing solutions within the library; and established processes to ensure that campaign and sector-focused endorsements were captured at all levels and shared widely across the Partnership.

  • Designed and configured a new workflow app to capture campaign success stories.

  • Collaborated with teams to define internal processes in order to construct an app that allowed offices to share travel plans globally.

Church World Service / Resettlement Support Center Africa

Traveled on missions throughout sub-Saharan Africa (including Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) for the US Refugee Admissions Program and conducted personal interviews with refugees in immigrant communities and camps to document individual persecution claims. Helped applicants establish that they met the legal threshold to qualify for US resettlement and presented case files to US Citizenship and Immigration Services for final adjudication.

Resettlement Expert

UNHCR (United Nation's Refugee Agency)

Seconded on a short-term assignment to UNHCR Nairobi to assess the eligibility of urban refugees for the US Refugee Admissions Program and collect refugee testimony through individual and family interviews. Prepared and edited Resettlement Registration Forms documenting family compositions, persecution history, credibility & special needs assessments, general histories of countries of origin, and legal analyses of the refugees’ claims based on international refugee and human rights law.

Manager of Endowment Records and Systems

Southern Methodist University

2006-2010

 

Promoted to Manager of Endowment Records and Systems in July 2008 to oversee SMU’s 1400+ physical and virtual endowment records and the creation of new endowments. Collaborated with SMU Finance to manage endowment activity & ensure fund compliance for the SMU Endowment totaling $1.4 billion. I managed the Office of Endowment & Scholarship Giving's (ESG) transition to Blackbaud Enterprise and worked with other Development & External Affairs departments on system design, business process needs, and data validation. I additionally managed student workers, temporary staff, and two indirect reports.

 

Promoted to Endowment Stewardship Specialist in August 2007 to oversee the annual stewardship reporting. I streamlined the process and oversaw the completion of hundreds of annual endowment reports by training and collaborating with staff in six schools on data collection and creation of donor reports. I increased reporting from 720 to 900+ endowments and created specialized reporting for over 100 VIP donors. I also collaborated on a pilot project to provide thank you notes to 280 endowment donors from 560 undergraduate scholarship recipients and trained DEA staff on the concept of endowments.

 

Employed as an Advancement Specialist to manage external relations for ESG and research and review all SMU endowments to ensure correct endowment name and legal fund usage across the university's schools and areas.

 

HUD Specialist

2004-2006

 

Promoted to HUD Specialist in August 2005 to act as the primary contact for Cheldan Homes account and coordinate 150-200 closings a month with their CFO and bankers. Initially engaged as an Escrow Associate to work with developers, builders, and bankers to complete interim property closings and train new Escrow Associates on front and back end processing procedures.

 

Project & Volunteer Coordinator and Senior Gallery Manager

Dallas Children's Museum

2000-2004

 

Promoted in May 2001 to manage a gallery staff of six and a volunteer base of 500. I oversaw daily museum operations, museum marketing, and special event coordination. While overseeing the museum's ongoing marketing needs, I authored quarterly newsletters, website articles, weekly press releases, and marketing & fundraising materials and conducted market research and developed courses of action. As DCM's public relations representative, I also acted as a spokesperson for radio, television, and public speaking engagements; managed publicity campaigns with magazine and TV media; and collaborated with ArtsPartners organization to help low-income schools be able to take their students on fun off-site learning field trips to supplement their classroom curriculum. In my role as Project Coordinator, I organized monthly events and off-site events including the development and coordination of the quarterly “Camp Valley View” fundraisers, an art auction/museum benefit with more than 1,000 attendees, and annual “Free Days” with record attendances of 1,000+ visitors, and assisted with five silent auction fundraisers.

 

Hired as a Gallery Manager to manage exhibits, visitor admissions, and daily floor operations and prepared a business needs analysis and recommendations as part of independent coursework on small business operations for college credit.
